NHFF Announces the Preferred Restaurant Program

Few things in life are better than great films and great cuisine, which is why NHFF is proud to announce the “NHFF Preferred Restaurant Program” in celebration of our 10th Anniversary this fall. Portsmouth boasts a dynamic downtown culinary scene rich in variety and savor. And now NHFF will offer guests a variety of NHFF-friendly places to rest your feet, enjoy yourself and talk about all those amazing films you just watched.

The complete list of our participating restaurants is an impressive representation of Portsmouth’s strong culinary culture but there is still room for more. Preferred Restaurant Program Participants

Rudi’s – Rudi’s is a contemporary American restaurant with something for everyone. Sample the freshest of local farms and Seaport’s bounties with menus for cool, quiet lunches (daily, 11:30-3) and upbeat, lime-lit dinners (nightly, 4-close) featuring a wide array of traditional dishes with signature twists.

Black Trumpet - Black Trumpet is a two-story bistro and wine bar in the heart of Portsmouth’s historic old port. Both floors offer views of the Piscataqua River and the oft-photographed tugboats that still escort enormous tankers into the harbor.

Oar House - Located in the historic “Merchant’s Row” building at the edge of Portsmouth’s old harbor, The Oar House serves fine food in a setting filled with mementos of the city’s long and proud maritime heritage.

FOUR - Our goal at Four is to stimulate the taste buds and create an emotional reaction, as we believe that an excellent meal should be a moving experience. With a caring staff that will treat you like family, we strive to provide our guests with an atmosphere that is elegant yet comfortable.

Brazo -Welcome to Brazo. Where the flavors of Latin and South American cuisine are completely at home in northern reaches. It’s everything an exotic journey should be, while only an arm’s length from downtown Portsmouth.

The Green Monkey - The Green Monkey offers New American Cuisine with a flare. Enjoy a unique and comfortable atmosphere while indulging in our exclusively designed martinis, specialty beers and wines from around the world.

Dolphin Striker - Set in a historic building at the corner of Ceres and Bow Streets, adjacent to the Portsmouth Harbor, The Dolphin Striker is a gem in Portsmouth’s dining scene. Their thoughtfully crafted menu drawn from cuisine worldwide and tailored to New England tastes looks to celebrate the region’s freshest bounty.

Cava - Located in the heart of historic downtown Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Cava is the dream of two long time friends John Akar and Gregg Sessler. Together they combined their years of experience in the restaurant business to build Cava. Cava features two wine bars and a chef’s bar serving modern and classic Mediterranean cuisine.

Library Restaurant - Join us for traditional New England fare, while surrounded by architectural treasures of an era gone by. Library is prestigious while reasonably priced, with something for everyone through all seasons. It is the perfect setting for a business luncheon or dinner. You can also enjoy lighter fare or a friendly cocktail in our lounge.

Radici - Experience the authentic tastes of the old country in downtown Portsmouth, New Hampshire. As you step inside, the low lights, candles & cool music create an intimate atmosphere as flavors mingle and simmer in the air, taking you away to Italian landscapes & seaside villas.

Blue Mermaid - Our innovative menu is inspired by the fun and festive foods of the Caribbean. Come in and enjoy our friendly service, eclectic atmosphere and Portsmouth’s best margaritas, tropical coolers and unique draft beer selection.

Portsmouth Gas Light Co. – Portsmouth Gas Light Co. brings casual American dining and brick-oven pizza to the Seacoast.

Jumpin’ Jays Fish Café - Located just two blocks down from Market Square, Jay’s has become an overnight institution among locals who appreciate exceptional seafood. The quality of fare is unsurpassed. The atmosphere is casually hip, with no pretense.

Pesce - The new Pesce Italian Kitchen continues to provide its unique commitment to fine service and authentic Italian cuisine through the talents of their Executive Chef, James Walter. The restaurant now specializes in simple rustic Italian food at a moderate price, based on simplicity, quality, and a passion for food, wine, and service.

Flatbread Co - Relax and enjoy a natural pizza baked in a primitive wood fired oven. Experience a meal prepared with organic produce, free range chicken, and nitrate free meats. A community oriented company, where we work hard, have fun and do our part in saving the planet, all in a days work. We serve local organic produce, free range and clean meats. All of our major ingredients are made in house and cooked in a wood fired cauldron or in a hand built wood burning earthen oven.

Foobar - Foobar features an eclectic menu centered around fresh ingredients and well prepared dishes. We are focused on providing a great experience for our patrons.
