This panel of local industry affiliates will choose the best NH film played on opening night,
Thurs., Oct. 16 at The Music Hall. The NH Jury Award will go to the best Granite State filmmaker
in the form of our coveted Granny along with our standard prize package and cash.
Jurors include:
AMY DIAZ - Editor, Hippo Press
Amy is the editor and film critic for the Hippo Press. The Hippo Press is New Hampshire’s
largest weekly newspaper. With readership that spans from Concord to Manchester and Nashua
it is southern New Hampshire’s source for news, arts and entertainment. As the paper’s film
critic Amy has seen so many films she’s lost count! Amy resides in Manchester, home of the
Hippo Press.
RICK BROUSSARD – Editor, NH Magazine
Rick has written extensively on film, particularly in the Granite State. He co-founded the
New Hampshire Theater Awards and is an official adjudicator and chairman for the NH Theatre
Committee’s statewide awards program. He sits on the board of directors for New Hampshire
Made, Inc., is the vice chairman of the New Energy Foundation, is entertainment chair for
the annual Best of NH event and is an ambassador on the New Hampshire Humanities Council board
of advisors. Rick lives in Concord with his wife and three kids.
GREG KRETCHMAR - The Morning Buzz
Greg is the host of the popular radio show “Greg and the Morning Buzz” which is heard throughout
NH, ME, and MA on WHEB, Rock 101 WGIR, Rock 93.9, and K-Rock. Greg's a 25 year veteran of NH radio
and a lifelong NH resident. He's also done work in television, photography, and last year made his
film debut in "The Stag Hunt" which was featured at last year’s festival. He's thrilled
at the chance to be a part of the New Hampshire Film Festival and looks forward to another great
year of films from great local filmmakers!
LARRY CLOW - The Wire
Larry has spent a good portion of the last four years watching, writing and thinking about movies
for The Wire. A freelance writer based in Dover, Larry also reviews egregious exploitation flicks
and barely-tolerable B-movies for cinema-suicide.com. When he's not watching movies, Larry can
usually be found planning zombie walks, working at a local comic shop and drinking too much coffee.
CHRIS CURTIS - The Music Hall
Chris Curtis is Film and Outreach Coordinator at The Music Hall. He is also a part-time musician,
visual artist and actor. He has composed music for local films and theater, his abstract paintings
have been shown in Maine and New Hampshire and he has been seen acting on many stages between Boston
and Portland as well as in some local films.
