2008 GRAND JURY


A select group of industry luminaries chosen by the New Hampshire Film Festival chooses the Grand Jury Award winner from a six-film pool determined by the Screening Committee. These six selections include two documentaries, two features and two short films. The Grand Jury Award winner receives New Hampshire Film Festival’s most lavish prize package as well as a Granny.

Grand Jurors include:

GINA CARBONE is the features editor for Seacoast Media Group in Portsmouth. She writes weekly film reviews for Spotlight, SMG’s arts and entertainment magazine, and is a regular contributor to RottenTomatoes.com.

AARON WIEDERSPAHN writer director “The Sensation of Sight”, starring academy award nominated actor, David Strathairn and winner of last year’s NH Film Festival best Feature. The Sensation of Sight traveled to many prestigious film festivals and ultimately obtained theatrical distribution.

DAVE MCLAUGHLIN Dave McLaughlin wrote & directed the independent feature film "On Broadway," which won the Grand Jury Prize at the 2007 New Hampshire Film Festival, as well as additional honors at several other festivals. He co-wrote the movie "Southie," which won the Jury Prize for Best American Independent Film at the 1998 Seattle Film Festival. He serves as Executive Director of Boston World Partnerships, a non-profit established by Mayor Thomas M. Menino to promote Boston as one of the world's most advantageous business locations.
